Diagnosis. Face usually heavily patterned in black or brown but not sharply banded between antennal ledges; crown often longitudinally striped with rufous lines from sides of tylus extending to hind margin of head ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 E). Often rather elongate but with broadly angular head; pronotum coarsely pitted, forming transverse rugae or striations ( Figs 8 View FIGURE 8 A–K); tegmina often densely pitted in longitudinal series throughout; bullae at apex of clavi and usually also on, or near, apex of outer anteapical cell, sometimes prominent and dividing elongate central anteapical cell, at other times forming an irregular dark spot on vein bordering central anteapical cell; apical veins usually brown to black or carinate; legs as in Abbalomba . No appreciable sexual dimorphism. Ovipositor tapered on apical half or third to blunt tip, with tooth on dorsal margin basad of midlength, before short, fused bases ( Figs 10 View FIGURE 10 L–P). Length: 3–5 mm.
