Adult male
Genus diagnosis: In life, body red with few setae. Mounted on a microscope slide, head with a series of sclerotized ridges forming a five-armed cross ventrally; antennae each 10-segmented; anterior margin of forewing staining red; hamulohalteres present, each haltere with a single tiny hamulus on apex; tarsi each 1-segmented; claws each with a small denticle near apex, claw digitules knobbed; abdominal segments VI and VII each with a group of large tubular ducts dorsally; abdomen without caudal extensions but segments VII and VIII each with lateral margins rounded and slightly sclerotized; loculate pores absent.
