Basionym of: Stachys arvensis (L.) L. (1763) .

Lectotype (Turland in Jarvis & al. in Taxon 50: 511. 2001): Herb. Burser XIII: 63 ( UPS) .

Current name: Stachys arvensis (L.) L. ( Lamiaceae ).

Note: Codd (in Leistner, Fl. Southern Africa 28(4): 70. 1985) indicated Clifford material as type but as the protologue contains no reference to Hortus Cliffbrtianus (1738), such a specimen cannot be original material for the name.
