Megachile (Eutricharaea) sp. 3

Fig. 55 View FIGURES 49–55 .

Female: Small-sized Eutricharaea (body length 9 mm) characterized as follows: Integument dark brown, except the following body parts, which are orange: femora and tarsi of all legs, mandibles and antennae except scape and pedicel; latero-inferior part of T1. Vertex short. Vestiture entirely white, include scopa on S6. Tergites nearly entirely covered by white tomentum, cuticula visible only on discs of T2 and T3; in particular, T6 entirely covered by dense white tomentum entirely obscuring cuticula, without dark erect hairs. Mandible approaching the condition observed in M. orientalis Morawitz 1895 ( Praz 2017: fig. 2), thus with five regularly spaced and subequal, acute teeth, cutting edge recessed behind margin and little visible in front view ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 49–55 ). Whether this species is conspecific with M. orientalis will require further investigation; it may also be the unknown female of Megachile sp. 2 .

Male: Unknown (possibly Megachile sp. 2 ).

Material examined: EGYPT: 1 ♀, Wadi Khoshb ( Sharm El Sheikh , South Sinai), 16–18.iv.2016, sweep net, leg. A. Al-Shahat ( EFC) .
