Redescription. Length 8.9–9.4 mm, width 5.5–6.2 mm. General color ( Figs 59A–59D View FIGURE 59 ) yellow; antennomeres IX–XI and metasternum black; two pairs of black lateral spots at basal and apical 1/3 of elytra, respectively. Antennae filiform in males ( Fig. 60A View FIGURE 60 ), antennomeres IV longest, III–X elongate, length ratios of antennomeres I– XI 1.0: 0.7: 1.2: 1.4: 1.3: 1.2: 1.2: 1.0: 1.0: 0.8: 1.1, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.5: 2.2: 3.5: 4.7: 4.5: 4.2: 4.3: 3.6: 3.8: 3.4: 4.8; longer in female ( Fig. 60B View FIGURE 60 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.6: 1.3: 1.3: 1.3: 1.2: 1.2: 1.0: 1.0: 0.9: 1.1, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.6: 2.3: 4.9: 5.0: 5.1: 4.8: 4.3: 4.3: 4.0: 3.6: 5.1. Pronotum transverse, 2.1x wider than long, disc slightly convex, with reticulate microsculpture and sparse, fine punctures, punctures reduced medially, baso- and apico-lateral angles rectangular, apical margin slightly concave. Elytra oblong, widest at middle, 1.3–1.4x longer than wide, disc with reticulate microsculpture and dense punctures; moderately convex, epipleurae near lateral margins, located 9/10 distance between suture and lateral margins. Penis ( Figs 60C–60E View FIGURE 60 ) elongate and comparatively wide; 5.0x longer than wide, parallel-sided, apically tapering from apical 1/5, bifurcate at apical 1/10, lateral apices connected; tectum reduced; slightly curved near base in lateral view, apices widely rounded; ventral surface with shallow and narrow notch at apex, inside apex membranous; endophallic sac without sclerites. Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V in female truncate. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 60F View FIGURE 60 ) transverse and well sclerotized; apical margin rounded, depressed medially, with several long setae along apical margin; one median longitudinal internal ridge from apical 1/7 to base 1/3; spiculum long and wide. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 60G View FIGURE 60 ) as wide as pump, connected to pump, basally narrowed; pump strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct extremely elongate.

Variation. Some specimens possess reduced posterior spots on the elytra and those were described as O. sternalis ( Figs 59B–59D View FIGURE 59 ).

Diagnosis. Members of this species are similar to Oides flava (Olivier) but differ in possessing one or two pairs of small black spots near the lateral margins of the elytra, and more slender antennae. In males, the aedeagi of O. quadriguttata differ from those of O. flava in lacking a tectum (possessing elongate and apically bifurcate tectum in O. flava ) and wider lateral processes (slender lateral processes in O. flava ).

Other specimens examined. PHILIPPINES. Luzon: 2♂♂ ( MNHUB), Balbalan, I.1917, leg. J. Dactiha; 1♂, 1♀ ( MNHUB), same but with “ III.1918 ”.
