Type Locality: Indonesia, Maluku ( Moluccas), Ternate.

Vernacular Names: Halmahera Naked-backed Fruit Bat.

Distribution: N Moluccas, Togian Isls, Sangihe Isls, Talaud Isls, Pelang, Sulawesi ( Indonesia).

Conservation: IUCN / SSC Action Plan (1992) – No Data as D. viridis crenulata . IUCN 2003 – Not listed.

Discussion: viridis species group. Included by Hill (1983) and Hill and Corbet (1992) as a subspecies of viridis , but see Bergmans and Rozendaal (1988). Also see Flannery (1995 b). Non-Moluccan populations apparently represent an undescribed subspecies (K. Helgen, pers. comm.).
