Genus Brasityphis View in CoL n. gen.
Description: Shell small, reaching 5 mm for subfamily, biconical. Paucispiral protoconch, mediumsized, rounded. Last whorl with four rounded varices each with a rounded axial rib between closer to succeeding than to preceding varix. Strong spiral sculpture crosses axial elements. Aperture oval. Inner side of outer lip with five rounded denticles. Anterior part of parietal wall with a small callus. Anterior canal short and close in adults. Anal tubes close, short and smooth.
Etymology: From Brazil, referring to the country where the typespecies occurs, and Typhis , the type genus of Typhinae .
