Distribution. Widespread in Europe, Russia (European part, northern Caucasus) and Turkey.

Status in CZ. Previously recorded only from southern Moravia: Valtice ( Olejníček 1982, erroneously as Medetera tertia ), Dolní Věstonice, Pálava ( Olejníček 1998), and from six localities within Podyjí National Park ( Olejníček et al. 2005). The first records from Bohemia are presented herein.

Ecology. Medetera muralis has been collected from soils, walls and trunks of deciduous trees ( Pollet et al. 2011). The above listed records originate mostly from rocks and rocky outcrops.
