Diagnosis. In the original description ( Wu et al. 2013), the species was compared only with B. sauteri belonging to another species group. Externally, B. callorufa ( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 5 – 12 ) differs clearly from both relative species B. fossi ( Figs. 9–12 View FIGURES 5 – 12 ) and B. obsoleta ( Figs. 5, 6 View FIGURES 5 – 12 ) by the wing coloration and pattern. The male genitalia of B. callorufa ( Figs. 20, 21 View FIGURES 19 – 21 ) is closer to that of B. obsoleta ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 21 ), but the uncus is narrower, the valva is slightly narrower, the medial costal process is shorter, the basal saccular process is distally broader, the scobination in the 1st medial diverticulum is stronger, the main lobe of the 2nd medial diverticulum is larger and covered with stronger cornuti, the 5th medial diverticulum is larger, and the 3rd medial diverticulum is slightly shorter. The female genitalia ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 27 – 32 ) differ from B. obsoleta ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27 – 32 ) by the less rugose antrum and the slightly shorter and posteriorly broader ductus bursae. Differences from B. fossi are listed in the diagnosis of the latter.

Distribution. The species is endemic to Taiwan ( Wu et al. 2013).
