Type-species: Colapteroblatta compsa Hebard, 1919 View in CoL , by monotypy.

Remarks: The genus was described as monotypical, on the basis of 1 male, 7 females and 3 larvae ( Hebard, 1919). The morphology of external structures was described in detail in the original description. The male genitalia of C. compsa were illustrated by Roth (1971). Later, the genera Poroblatta Hebard, 1919 , Acroporoblatta Hebard, 1919 and Nauclidas Rehn, 1930 were synonymized under Colapteroblatta by Roth & Gutiérrez (1998).
