Habitat. Wooded areas, gardens, under logs; habitats with high organic matter. Zoogeographical distribution type. Holarctic, North American species. Distribution in Croatia. Two records for Croatia, Rucner & Rucner (1971): Cres Island (Mediterranean region) and Bijeli Vrh (Continental region).
