Habitat. No special preferences towards soil type.

Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine.

Distribution in Croatia. One of the most common earthworm species, found all over Croatia in all three regions. Szüts (1919): Lokve, Mrkopalj, Pag, Rečica, Valpovo; Zicsi (1968): Zagreb; Šapkarev (1972, 1979): Zagreb, Batina, Bigina poljana, Beli Manastir, Galovac, Kopačevo, Korenička Kapela, Novska, Osijek, Petlovac, Vinkovci, Zagreb, Zaprešić; Mršić (1984, 1987a, 1988): Bili Brig, Čačinci, Jankovac (Papuk), Karsko (Učka), Smiljan; Jelić (1985): Sakadaško jezero, Podunavlje; Hackenberger: Vojlovica (Papuk), Sokoline (Papuk), Darda, Lapovac, Našice, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Čakovec, Donji Miholjac, Turkovići, Kneja, Potok Musulinski, Jasenak, Mikleuš, Bijele stijene, Kapela.
