( Figs 8–11 View FIGURES 6 – 11 )

Nipponogelasma lucia View in CoL :? Oh & Park, 1988: 166; Viidalepp, 1996: 62 (part);? Shin, 1996: 11;? Kim et al., 2001: 34.

Diagnosis. The new subspecies is somewhat smaller than the nominotypical form and differs from the latter in male genitalia: the process on the costa of the valva is much narrower, almost cylindrical; the saccus is narrower, rounded on the top; and the process on the dorsal wall of the aedeagus is slightly broader, rounded on the apex. In the nominotypical subspecies the process of the costa is broad, flattened; the saccus is wide, truncated or concave on the top; and the process on the dorsal wall of the aedeagus is narrow, pointed on the apex.

Description. Length of forewing 11–13 mm in male, 13 mm in female. Shape and coloration of wings as in nominotypical subspecies, but forewing postmedial line beyond vein M3 strongly curved inward, and hindwing with this line strongly convex in M3–Cu2 area.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 15–17 View FIGURES 12 – 17 ). Smaller than in nominotypical form; process on costa of valva much narrower, almost cylindrical; saccus narrower, rounded on the top; process on dorsal wall of aedeagus slightly broader, rounded apically.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18 – 19 ). Postvaginal plate more asymmetric: left branch of median horseshoe portion of plate about 1/2 as wide as right branch; median tonguelike process shorter; corpus bursae much wider, shorter.

Distribution. Russia (East Amur basin, Sikhote-Alin Range) ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 ),? Korea (Central). The record from Korea is based on a single female from Muju (Jeollabuk-do Province) ( Jun & Shin, 1980) which has not been re-examined. Aoshakuna lucia may be present in the mountains of North Korea, but its occurrence in the southernmost province of central Korea requires confirmation.

Habitat. In the Russian Far East the species is associated with montane mixed and coniferous forests; adults fly in July and early August.

Host plants. Pinaceae : Abies nephrolepis and probably Pinus koraensis .
