Ochterus manni Hungerford, 1927 View in CoL
Material examined. Ecuador, Pichincha province, La Unión del Toachi, Toachi river right tributary, 850 m amsl, 28.VI.2009, 5 3 4 ƤƤ, legit F. Cianferoni, C. Monte & F. Zinetti, coll. CFC; idem, 1 3 1 Ƥ, coll. MZUF.
Notes. Schell (1943) reported O. manni as having “at least some part of dorsum black” while O. parvus Schell, 1943 has “entire dorsum light rich brown”. Some species are quite variable in their colouration, meaning that this characteristic is not particularly useful key character, with some Ecuadorian specimens of O. manni also having a distinct brown colour.
