An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Carnivora : Herpestidae , and Rodentia : Sciuridae . Adults and nymphs have been collected from Carnivora : Canidae ; adults alone have been taken from Mammalia (several orders). There are no records of Rhipicephalus theileri causing human parasitism.
