N: Kitaoka and Suzuki (1983)

L: Kitaoka and Suzuki (1983); see note below

Redescriptions: none

Note: Kitaoka and Suzuki (1983) state that it is not absolutely certain that the larva described by them represents Rhipicephalus tetracornus . Kolonin (2009) does not include this species in his list of the Ixodidae of the world, and Walker et al. (2000) treat Rhipicephalus tetracornus as incertae sedis. However, Guglielmone et al. (2009, 2010, 2014, 2015) and Guglielmone and Nava (2014) found no clear reason to declare Rhipicephalus tetracornus invalid.
