A Palearctic species whose adults and nymphs have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Carnivora : Canidae ; larvae alone have been collected from Lagomorpha : Ochotonidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Liu et al. 2017). There are no records of Haemaphysalis tibetensis causing human parasitism.

Note: Kolonin (2009) treats the nymph of Haemaphysalis tibetensis as undescribed, but it was described before 2009, as cited above. The adults of Haemaphysalis tibetensis were originally identified as Haemaphysalis warburtoni , as explained in Hoogstraal (1965).
