An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Rodentia : Muridae ; adults have been recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae , and Persissodactyla: Equidae ;
nymphs have been collected from Cuculiformes : Cuculidae ; larvae have been found on Rodentia : Sciuridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis howletti causing human parasitism.
