Note: Camicas et al. (1998) list Haemaphysalis indica as an Oriental species, but Guglielmone et al. (2014) state that it has also been found in the Afrotropical and Palearctic Regions. Guglielmone et al. (2014) caution that iden-tifications of Haemaphysalis indica made prior to the study of Hoogstraal (1970a) are uncertain. Thus, Hoogstraal (1970a) states that all African references to Haemaphysalis indica (as Haemaphysalis leachi indica ) are incorrect, while some references from Asia are correct and others are not; none of these are included in the redescriptions above. Hoogstraal and Kim (1985) believe that more than one species is included under the name Haemaphysalis indica .
