An Australasian and Oriental species whose adults and nymphs have been found on Artiodactyla : Cervidae ; adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Suidae ; nymphs and larvae have been recovered from Rodentia : Muridae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis psalistos causing human parasitism.

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) treat Haemaphysalis psalistos as an Oriental species, but it has also been found in the
