An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Afrosoricida : Tenrecidae . Adults and nymphs have occasionally been recorded from Primates : Indriidae ; adults alone have been collected from Rodentia : Muridae , and Pelecaniformes : Threskiornithidae , while nymphs have been found on Primates : Cheirogaleidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis simplex causing human parasitism.
