A Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Cervidae , but all parasitic stages have been collected from Carnivora : Canidae ; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Cervidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae ; adults and larvae have been removed from Carnivora : Felidae ; adult ticks alone have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Suidae , and Carnivora : Procyonidae and Ursidae ( Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Torii et al. 2018). Haemaphysalis megaspinosa is a very rare parasite of humans.
