An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages, including the undescribed larva, have been found on Rodentia : Muridae . Adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Bovidae , Cervidae and Suidae , Carnivora : Canidae , Felidae and Mustelidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae and Tapiridae ; immature stages have been recovered from Artiodactyla : Tragulidae , Carnivora : Viverridae , and Rodentia : Sciuridae . Haemaphysalis nadchatrami is a sporadic parasite of humans.

(1965b) state that Haemaphysalis nadchatrami , named as Haemaphysalis papuana nadchatrami , was consistently confused with Haemaphysalis hystricis and Haemaphysalis semermis in Nuttall and Warburton (1915) , Krijgsman and Ponto (1932), Anastos (1950), Kohls (1957c) and Audy et al. (1960).
