An Oriental and Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae ; adults alone have been collected from Carnivora : Felidae and Ursidae , and Rodentia (unknown family). Haemaphysalis nepalensis is a very rare parasite of humans.

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) list Haemaphysalis nepalensis as an Oriental species, but Guglielmone et al. (2014) state that it has also been found in the Palearctic Region.
