An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Artiodactyla : Tragulidae . Adults and nymphs have been collected from Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Cervidae ; adult ticks alone have been recovered from Carnivora : Canidae , Felidae and Herpestidae , Primates (unknown family), and Aves (unknown order); immature stages have been found on Primates : Cercopithecidae , Rodentia : Hystricidae and Muridae , Cuculiformes : Cuculidae , Galliformes : Phasianidae , and Passeriformes (several families). Haemaphysalis aculeata is a rare parasite of humans.
