An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Squamata : Varanidae . Adults and nymphs have been collected from Squamata : Pythonidae , and adults alone have been found on Carnivora : Canidae , Mustelidae and Viverridae Squamata : Elapidae , Rodentia : Hystricidae and Sciuridae , and Scandentia : Tupaiidae . There are no records of Amblyomma crassipes causing human parasitism.
