DISTRIBUTION: Tropical to warm temperate waters of the North Pacific and Indian Oceans off Japan, Taiwan, California ( U.S.A.), and Sri Lanka.

COMMENT: Includes hotaula; see Moore and Gilmore, 1965, Nature, 205(4977):1239- 1240.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea .
