Distribution. Palaearctic; first record for Ukraine.

Taxonomical remark. A rather large species, body length 6–8 mm. Lower mandibular tooth usually slightly longer than the upper tooth; face wide, inner eye margins ± divergent ventrally; mesopleuron densely punctate ventrally; hind tibia not or narrowly infuscate apically; mesosoma usually red, sometimes mesopleuron ± blackish; pterostigma brown.
