Comments. The type material of L. rubra falls within the variation observed in material of L. bifasciata housed in European collections, in particular antennal and general body colouration. Females of L. bifasciata vary from the head and mesosoma being generally bright red to orangish brown, with F 1 and sometimes F 2 and clava varying from pale orange to brown. We are therefore confident that L. rubra is a junior synonym of L. bifasciata .
