Neophyllobius sultanensis sp. nov. ( Fig.1)

Type materials. Holotype female, from litter under Populus sp. , Taşköprü place, Sultandaǧı district, Afyon, Turkey, 16.XI.2004, coll. M. Akyol.

Diagnosis: This species can be recognized by the following characters: femur II with four setae, e 1, d 1 and f 1 longer than other dorsal setae, d 1 reaching bases of seta h 1, e 1 and f 1 reaching bases of setae h 1 and passing posterior margin of dorsum, and vi, sce, pdx are subequal in length.

Description (female). HOLOTYPE —Length of body (including gnathosoma) 362, width 256.

Gnathosoma. Length of gnathosoma 64. Subcapitulum with one pair of smooth setae medioventrally. Number of setae and solenidia on palpi (femur to tarsi): 2 1 3+1 2+2 eupathidia+1 ω.

Dorsum. Almost ovoid; striated on integument; 15 pairs of finely serrated dorsal setae setting on tubercles. Seta e 1 the longest. Lengths of setae: vi = sce= pdx =75, ve 64, sci 69, c 1 91, c 2 96, d 1 138, d 2 64, e 1 144, e 2 80, f 1 122, f 2 = h 2 = 37, h 1 43.

Venter. With three pairs of smooth setae, dimensions of this setae: 1a 27, 3a 37, 4a 21; one pair of aggenital setae (ag), one pair of genital setae (g) and three pairs of pseudanal setae (ps 1–3).

Legs. Length of legs (from base of femur to tip of tarsal claws): leg I 496, leg II 442, leg III 469, leg IV 522. Setal formula of leg segments (solenidia in parentheses) as follows: coxae 3 1 2 2, trochanters 1 1 1 1, femora 4 4 2 2, genua 1(+k) 1(+k) 1 1, tibiae 9 (φ) 8 (φ) 8 (φ) 7 (φ), tarsi 10 (ω) 10 (ω) 8 8. Tarsi I–IV with two midventral setae.

Male. Unknown.

Etymology. The species name sultanensis reflects the type locality, Sultandaǧı, Afyon.

Accession number— MAN 03616/10.

Remarks. This species is similar to N. quadrisetosus De Leon, 1958 in that femora I and II each with four setae, and tarsus I–IV bears two midventral setae. However, N. sultanensis differs from N. quadrisetosus in that dorsal body seta e 1, d 1, f 1 longer than other dorsal setae, seta d 1 reaching base of seta h 1, seta e 1 and f 1 reaching base of seta h 1 and passing margin of dorsum, and setae vi, sce, pdx are subequal in length.
