( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 , 32–36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 )

Hypseloecus kiritshenkoi Kerzhner, 1970: 638, 1988: 115 View in CoL . Pherolepis kiritshenkoi Schuh, 1989: 4, 1995: 458 View in CoL .

Specimen examined: CHINA: Heilongjiang Province: 1 male, Mudanjiang City (44°35'N, 129°36'E), alt. 350m, 19. VIII. 2003, Wen-jun Bu leg..

Diagnosis: Recognized by the large-sized body ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ), the deep brown hemelytron, the black head, pronotum, mesoscutum and scutellum, the distinctly reddish femora and proximal half of tibiae, the hemelytron with dense, long, decumbent simple setae and apressed, flattened, shining sericeous setae, and the form of genitalia ( Figs. 32–36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ). Most similar to P. amplus Kulik and P. ro b u s t u s sp. nov. in appearance and coloration, but distinguished from P. amplus ( Figs. 3, 4 View FIGURES 1 – 11 , 26–30 View FIGURES 26 – 31 ) by the form of the male genitalia, the entirely black pronotum and scutellum, from P. robustus sp. nov. ( Figs. 10, 11 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) by the suberect or recumbent, long, relatively dense, simple setae on pronotum, as well as from both by the red femora and tibiae and the form of vesica in male.

Redescription: Male ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ): Macropterous, large-sized.

Coloration: Body generally brown-black, without dorsal markings; head entirely black in dorsal view, lateral surface of head deep castaneous; labium castaneous with segment I darkened; antennal segment I dirty yellow, proximal 2/3 of segment II reddish brown with remainder black, segment III and IV in coloration same as distal segment II; pronotum, mesoscutum, scutellum, mes- and met-episternum black; cuneus and clavus deep brown; procoxae white, meso- and meta-coxae pale-yellow, all femora, proximal half of tibiae distinctly reddish with distally dirty yellow, tarsi dirty yellow with segment III black; abdomen deep brown.

Surface and Vestiture: Surface generally smooth, pronotum shining, hemelytron generally dull, mes- and met-episternum and abdomen polished; body generally covered with suberect or decumbent, pale, short simple setae; relatively sparse, appressed, shining sericeous setae scattered on about proximal 2/3 of hemelytron; buccula with several long, erect setae; mesepimeron and posterior margin of metepisternum with a few suberect simple setae and appressed, shining sericeous setae arranged into several small patches.

Structure: Head: Transverse in dorsal view, triangular in frontal view, clypeus and frons weakly protrudent, clypeus invisible in dorsal view; vertex broad, flattened, posterior margin weakly concave in form of a complete carina, vertex and frons sloping in lateral view; mandibular and maxillary plates flattened, buccula elongate; labium stout, reaching posterior margin of mesocoxa; eyes kidney-shaped in lateral view, distinctly protuberant laterally; antennal segment I short with base constricted, segment II slender and tubular, almost straight, segment III subequal to IV in length, weakly curved. Thorax: Pronotum broad, trapezoidal, anterior margin weakly convex, lateral margin straight, posterior margin distinctly concave mesially, anterior lobe flattened, posterior lobe slightly tumidiform; mesoscutum broadly exposed, obviously declining; scutellum weakly swollen mesially; hemelytron broad, clavus slightly elevated along claval commissure; cuneus broadly triangular, slightly declining; femora stout, pro- and meso-tibiae slender, weakly flattend, meta-tibiae elongate, cylindrical, almost straight. Abdomen: Relatively broad and stout.

Male genitalia: Vesica weakly C-shaped, with a short, curved projection on proximal 3/4 of shaft, mesially with a tiny denticle ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ); left paramere boat-shaped ( Figs. 33, 34 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ); right paramere leaf-shaped ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ); phallotheca weakly curved with apex beaklike ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 32 – 36 ).
