Type locality. Azerbaijan: Arax Valley , Bartaz Pass. Holotype: female ( ZIN).

Material examined. AZERBAIJAN: Arakse, Bartaz pass, 4.6.1914, 1♀ (Holotype) ( ZIN) , IRAN: N.W. Persia, Gassan-Beglyu, Karadag , 6.6.1914, 1♀ (Paratype) ( ZIN) ; AZERBAIJAN: Transcaucasus, Margushevany , northern massive, 13.5.1935, 1♂ (leg. Veltistchev) ( NHMUK) ; Margushevan , near Terter, 17.4.1935, 1♀ (leg. Veltistchev) (det. Mistshenko, 1940 as Nocarodes serricollis serricollis ) ( NHMUK) ; Margushevan , Terter, 1935, 1♂, 1♀ (leg. Veltistchev) (det. Miram as N. daghestanicus geniculatus ) ( MNCN) ; ARMENIA: prov. Megry, prope Liškvas , 3.7.1929, 3♀ (leg. A. Schelkovnikov) ( NHMUK) ; Arax , Megrinsk, N. Kuris, 18.7.1960, 1♀ (leg. G. Avakyan) ( ZIN) .

Redescription of male: Body ( Fig. 804 View FIGURES 796 – 809 ) small and slender as for the genus; compressed laterally. Fastigium of vertex relatively long, distinctly depressed and slightly sloping. Frontal ridge narrow, slightly narrowed just below the median ocellus, inner part slightly wavy. Vertex between the eyes narrow, 1.3 times narrower than vertical diameter and very slightly narrower than transversal diameter of eye; median carinula short and grooved; supraocular foveola closed type. Antennae lost. Pronotum ( Fig. 804 View FIGURES 796 – 809 ) compressed laterally below the lateral carinae, depressed above them; lateral carina very distinct; median carina raised, without longitudinal sulcus. Prosternum raised triangularly with a small pointed triangular median projection. Mesosternal interspace narrow, 1.5 times wider than its length and distinctly narrower than mesosternal lobes. Hind femur ( Fig. 804 View FIGURES 796 – 809 ) narrow and slender, 2.8 times longer than its height with a weak preapical notch. Hind tibia with 8–9 inner and 8–9 outer spines. Abdominal tergites ( Fig. 804 View FIGURES 796 – 809 ) simple, with slightly raised median carina; lateral carinae distinct. Metanotum as the first abdominal tergite. Tympanum absent. Phallus ( Figs. 87 View FIGURES 83 – 92 a, b) small and stout; arch of zygoma raised, narrow triangular; posterior lobes of zygoma wide and long; tumida of zygoma slightly elongated; apodemes wide, without apical notch; basal valves of penis narrow; pseudolophi ( Fig. 87 View FIGURES 83 – 92 c) close but separated, very narrow and wide, with 8–10 spines.

Coloration. Body greyish-brown, with cream, brown and black spots and pattern. Head and pronotum greyishblack or brown with many small creamish tubercles. Typical light bands on paranota distinct, cream; below the lateral carinae of metazona brown. Legs greyish light brown with small black spots. Typical light band on abdomen distinct, creamish; lateral sides of abdomen brown. Sternites pale yellowish and greyish-cream; anterior margins of abdominal sternites and subgenital plate brown. Inner and ventral surfaces of hind femur black; dorsal margin of inner surface and ventral lobe of genicular lobes cream. Inner surface of hind tibia pale black, with dark cream inner spines; outer half of dorsal surface dark cream with black tipped spines. Tarsus blackish-brown.

Measurements (mm) of both sexes. body length: male 19, female 35; pronotum length: male 4, female 6.9; pronotum height: male 4.4, female 8; pronotum width anterior: male 3.9, female 6.4; pronotum width posterior: male 5.3, female 8.9; hind femur length: male 8, female 12.3; hind femur height: male 2.9, female 4.1.

Distribution. Azerbaijan: Arax Valley, Bartaz Pass, N.W. Iran: E. Azerbaijan Province, Arax valley, Karadagh, Armenia: Arax valley, Meghri, Kuris ( Fig. 848 View FIGURE 848 ).

Remarks. The previously unknown male was described by Avakyan (1968: 105) from Armenia for the first time. Here a redescription of the male from Margushevan is given.
