Material examined. AFGHANISTAN: Chamkani, 19.7.1967, 1♀ (leg. Pfadt) ( NHMUK).

Remarks. The following three taxa are closely related, E. brachyptera brachyptera , E. brachyptera uvarovi and E. zaheri . Their type localities are also close each other. This subspecies has hind femur with rose inner surface, the hind tibia and tarsus unicolor orange. The nominotypical subspecies has hind femur with bluish-grey inner surface, the hind tibia dark blue in proximal part, turning to red apically. The inner surface of hind femur and proximal part of hind tibia are blue, distal part of tibia yellow in E. zaheri . The studied single female is very close to this subspecies by the creamish inner surface of hind femur, the yellow hind tibia with blackened inner spines and the yellow tarsus. The differences of the colors of the hind legs lie only within the variability.

It was listed in the correct genus, Eremocharis , by Presa & Garcia (1983: 9) and Otte (1994: 143), but Eades et al. (2016) listed it in the genus Eremopeza like its nominotypical subspecies.
