Lectotype (designated by Allsopp 2018: 447): Lepidiota Froggatti Macl. Barrior Range N.W. Aust. (handwritten) | MAMU EN. 6750 (typeset) | N.W. Austra (typeset) | Type (typeset) | my lectotype label; in MMUS.
Allsopp (2018) illustrated and provided a discussion of the status of the lectotype and a paralectotype. The type locality was given in the original description as Barron River , Queensland [16.86°S, 145.76°E]; this is consistent with the known distribution of the species GoogleMaps .
