Remarks: This species is characterized by its rapid expansion toward the apertural end and by its broad convex apertural face as identified by LE ROY (1953).

Stratigraphic distribution: LE ROY (1953) recorded

this species only from his Maastrichtian unit “A” but it seems to have a longer range (Paleocene age) as referred by SAID & KENAWY (1956). In the study area, the Spiroplectammina knebeli found in the Late Cretaceous ( Globotruncana aegyptiaca Zone and Gansserina gansseri Zone ).
