Chromatonotus dextrodigitatus sp. nov.

( Figs. 15–20 View FIGURES 15–20 , 29 View FIGURES 29–30 , 33 View FIGURES 31–34 )

Measurements (mm). Holotype, paratype male and female: total length 10.5; length of pronotum 2.0; width of pronotum 3.0; length of tegmina 9.0; width of tegmina 2.0.

General color light brown-yellow, bright ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 31–34 ). Head and clypeus lighter, ocelli whitish ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15–20 ); anten- nae golden, tomentose. Pronotum with pale central disk ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–20 ). Tegmina with all trunk initials of the veins dark brown, discoidal and anal fields slightly darker.

Head sub-triangular, eyes small, interocular space broad, wider than the distance between the antennal bases; antennae, ocelli developed and deflected over the vertex; antennae extending beyond the apex of the abdomen.

Pronotum sub-trapezoidal, apex straight, rounded side wings and base slightly angular. Anterior femur on the anteroventral side type B3; posteroventral face with three or four spaced stout spines, the apical spine in the middle; posterior femur with spines robust, similar on both ventral faces, genicular spine present; claws symmetrical and simple, and pulvilli and arolium present. Tegmina long, extending past the cerci; marginal field short, narrow and deflected; narrow oblique scapular field; discoidal field wide, anal field slightly convex and elongated. Wing long, apical triangle well developed, with apical costal field, sector of the radial vein dilated, anal field wide and folded like a fan.

Abdomen with tergal modification in the first segment with a disposition of dispersed setae ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 29–30 ). Supranal plate with elongated, ciliated projection between the cerci ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–20 ). Subgenital plate asymmetrical, with bristles across the surface; styles small in form and size, located in the median-apical region ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15–20 ). Left phallomere hook-shaped ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 15–20 ). Median sclerite long, slender to the apex ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 15–20 ). Right phallomere damaged.

Type material. Holotype male ( MNRJ), Brazil, Mato Grosso, Sinop , (12º31’S, 55º37’W), BR 163, between 500 and 600-km markers, elevation 350 m, X/1974, Alvarenga & Roppa, colls GoogleMaps . Paratype male and 1 paratype female ( MNRJ), same data as holotype GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The species name dextrodigitatus is a Latin combination meaning “right-fingered”, referring to the configuration of the supra-anal plate of male.

Discussion. Chromatonotus dextrodigitatus sp. nov. differs from other congeners by the configuration of the supra-anal plate, which has a pronounced median and lateroapical expansion, and the configurations of median sclerite and left phallomere.
