scientific name

Calicium salicinum Pers.
status

Mucor lichenoides Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 2: 1185. 1753, nom. rej.

"Habitat in corticibus Pini." RCN: 8527.

Lectotype ( Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 369, 383. 1994): [icon] " Coralloides fungiforme arboreum nigrum, vix crustosum" in Dillenius, Hist. Musc.: 78, t. 14, f. 3 B. 1741. - Voucher: Herb. Dillenius ( OXF) .

Current name: Calicium salicinum Pers. View in CoL ( Caliciaceae ).

Note: Jørgensen & al. (l.c.) found that the lectotype belongs to Calicium salicinum Pers. and so C. lichenoides (L.) Schum , would become the correct name for this taxon. The Linnaean name was successfully proposed for rejection (in Taxon 43: 649. 1994).
