Chonocephalus vitiodepressus sp. nov.

The name refers to this being close to, but not being, C. depressus .

Male. Postpedicel slightly longer than its greatest breadth. Left side of epandrium as Fig. 106 , right side of epandrium and right gonopod as Fig. 107 and left gonopod and hypandrium as Fig. 108 . Wing 1.0– 1.3 mm long. Costal index 0.59–0.66. Vein 3 with a terminal vesicle but tip of costa extends a little beyond its tip. Distal half, or more, of mid tibia is white.

Material. Holotype male, Costa Rica, Puntarenas, Las Cruces Biological Station , 8.80 o N, 82.97 o W, 1200 m, Malaise trap, 7–17 November 2005, G. Kung & A. Kreuter ( CUMZ, 26-78) . Paratypes, 15 males as holotype except ( CUMZ, LACM, 26-79-81) ; 1 male, La Selva, Pto. Viejo , February 1980, W. Mason ( DEBU, 14- 61) . 1 male, Colombia, Chocó, PNN Utria, Sendero Cocalito , 6.03 o N, 77.32 o W, Malaise trap, 1–5 July 2000, B. Brown ( USNM, 26-75) ; 4 males, Rio Raposo, light trap, July , 1963, January and April 1964, V. H. Lee ( LACM) . 1 male, Mexico, Chiapas, Palenque , 80 m, second growth forest, flight interception trap, 2–23 July 1983, S. & J. Peck ( LACM, 26-61) .
