Sennius notatopygus (Pic, 1930) , comb n.

Bruchus notatopygus Pic, 1930b 14 (description, distribution).

Acanthoscelides notatopygus: Blackwelder, 1946: 760 (combination, catalog); Udayagiri & Wadhi, 1989: 54 (catalog).

Type material (1, MNHN): Syntype with labels: “Corumba / Matt Grosso” “ type ” “ notatopygus / n sp” “G118” “ Holotype ” “ Bruchus / notatopygus / Pic / det. 71 / J. M. Kingsolver” “ ♀ ” “Museum Paris / Coll. M. Pic” “ Sennius notatopygus / (Pic, 1930) / det J.H. Viana 2014” “ Syntype / Bruchus notatopygus Pic, 1930 / J. H. Viana”.

Remark. Pic (1930) did not mention how many specimens he studied when described Bruchus notatopygus . A female specimen was received from MNHN with labels and locality data identical to the information given in the original description ( Brésil) and Pic’s handwritten label " type " and " notatopygus Pic "; here this specimen is considered as syntype . This species is here treated as Sennius notatopygus (NEW COMBINATION) due to the hind femur with one tooth at inner ventral margin and internal sac of male genitalia with hinge sclerites, this last character studied from a compared male specimen from DZUP.
