Type locality.

North fork of Cottonwood Creek, Shasta County, California, USA; stratum: uncertain [likely Shasta Formation]; age: Early Cretaceous.

Type material.

Lectotype, ANSP IP4286 (designation by Stewart 1926: 434, pl. 24, fig. 8); paralectotypes, ANSP IP79476, 6 shells ( Richards 1968: 144).

Current taxonomic status.

Tornatellaea impressa (Gabb, 1864) ( Anderson 1958).
