Sphagnum swamps.

Phenology.

Flowering in Jun-Jul; fruiting in Aug-Sep.

Conservation status.

Not protected. We recommend to include this species in the next edition of the Red Book of Kazakhstan.

Notes.

Hammarbya paludosa was only recently reported for Kazakhstan for the first time ( Kubentayev et al. 2021). It was absent in earlier treatments, since the specimen was stored under the name Microstylis monophyllos (L.) Lindl. This location is the southernmost part of the area of H. paludosa. Fieldwork is necessary to check whether H. paludosa is still extant in that locality.
