Type-locality: Chrysichthys thysi – “ Makokou , Ivindo River, Ogowe-Nyanga River system, Gabon, 0°34’N, 12°52’E ”. Holotype: MRAC 73-2-P-1791. Paratypes: MNHN 1886-0148 (1); MRAC 179081 (1), 73-2-P-1787 to 1790 (1, 1, 1, 1)
