Remarks: Earlier Das & Gupta (1984; 1989) reported this species as P. gallicus from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Chitral; Punjab: Jhelum valley. Later, Dvořák (2007) reported this species from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Chitral: Bamboret valley, Brun; Baluchistan: Hazarqanli= Hazarganji and Ziarat; Gusenleitner (2007) reported this species from Gilgit-Baltistan: Jaglot. Mahmood et al. (2012) reported this species from Gilgit-Baltistan: Skardu. Faiz et al. (2016) reported this species from Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit, Ghizer and Hunza-Nagar.

Distribution: Afghanistan; central and southern Europe; China; India; Iran; Israel; Kyrgyzstan; Mongolia; Northern Africa; Pakistan; Russia; Syria; Tajikistan; Turkey; Turkmenistan intoduced into Argentina; Australia; Canary Islands; Canada; Chile; South Africa and U.S. A ( Das & Gupta 1989; Carpenter 1996; Dvořák 2007; Gusenleitner 2007).
