Serica (subgenus Taiwanoserica Nomura, 1974 )

Taiwanoserica Nomura, 1974: 82 (type species Taiwanoserica elongata Nomura, 1974 by original designation).

Remarks. According to the results of a recent phylogenetic analysis (Ahrens, in press), the genus Serica (as presently defined) is paraphyletic if Taiwanoserica is retained as a valid genus. Thus, the latter must be downranked to a subgenus of Serica resulting in the following new combinations:

Serica (Taiwanoserica) anmashana (Kobayashi, 1993) new combination; S. (T.) bihluhensis ( Kobayashi & Yu, 2000) new combination; S. (T.) chunlinlii (Ahrens, 2002) new combination;

S. (T.) elongata ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;

S. (T.) gracilipes ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;

S. (T.) kubotai ( Kobayashi, 1983) new combination;

S. (T.) lishana ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;

S. (T.) monticola ( Kobayashi & Yu, 2000) new combination; S. (T.) nitidipes ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;

S. (T.) ovata ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;. n.;

S. (T.) shinanshana ( Kobayashi, 1988) new combination; S. (T.) simillima ( Kobayashi, 1983) new combination; S. (T.) sinuosa ( Kobayashi & Yu, 2000) new combination; S. (T.) suturalis ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;

S. (T.) suzukii ( Kobayashi, 1983) new combination;

S. (T.) taiyal ( Kobayashi & Yu, 2000) new combination; S. (T.) variegata ( Nomura, 1974) new combination;
