“ Male: Elongate, opaque; pronotum reddish yellow; elytra and under side of body brownish yellow, the former with lateral margins narrowly dark brown along middles; antennae and legs reddish black”.
Tipo, localidade-tipo: Holótipo ♂, coletado no Peru (Junin, Satipo ), depositado no AMNH .
Distribuição: Peru ( Fisher, 1952).
Discussão: Fisher (1952) descreveu esta espécie em Ommata (Rhopalessa) e registrou: “This species differs from all described species of Rhopalessa in having the nearly uniform brownish yellow elytra, and the upper surface of the body opaque and nearly concealed by the exceedingly short pubescence”. Na verdade, L. pubipennis difere das espécies de Rhopalessa Bates , 1873 pelas cavidades procoxais abertas (fechadas em Rhopalessa) e pela presença de gibosidade no quarto apical dos élitros (ausente em Rhopalessa). Monné & Giesbert (1992) transferiram-na para Xenocrasis Bates, 1873 .
