Canthocamptus pygmaeus sp. nov. – Sars (1863a): 21 – 22, type locality is not known. Attheyella pygmaea Sars, 1863a – Sars (1911): 202 – 203.
Sars (1863a, 1911; see Table 1 View Table 1 , Supplementary material 1, for archive items Ms. Fol. 1009: 613; Ms. Fol. 1009: 468, no. 101) found this species quite frequently in Svelvig (Vestfold county Eastern Norway), in the neighbourhood of Oslo, and in some other localities in the country. Unpublished archive materials also comprise references to records from Southern Norway (see Table 1 View Table 1 , Supplementary material 1, for archive items Ms. Fol. 1009: 468, no. 58; Ms. Fol. 1009: 468, no. 64; Ms. Fol. 1009: 468, no. 68) and Northern Norway (see Table 1 View Table 1 , Supplementary material 1, for archive item Ms. Fol. 1009: 468, no. 64). Generally, this species is found in small ditches and shallow streams, and rarely in the littoral of larger lakes.
