Lectotype (Dorr & Barrie in Brittonia 45: 178. 1993): Herb. Linn. No. 568.5 ( LINN) .

Current name: Orthilia secunda (L.) House View in CoL ( Ericaceae / Pyrolaceae ).

Note: Basu (in J. Econ. Taxon. Bot. 14: 464. 1990) indicated unspecified material in LINN as the holotype but this does not distinguish between sheets 568.5 and 568.6. As they do not appear to be part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply, and Dorr & Barrie’s type choice is accepted.
