Diagnosis. This new species is similar to E. curvidorsalis sp. nov., but differs as noted in the diagnosis of the latter species. It is also close to E. duoprojecta sp. nov., but can be distinguished by the uncus lobe sharp at the apex, the valva with a nearly rounded basal process and a small subtriangular medial process, and the aedeagus having carinae. In duoprojecta sp. nov., the uncus lobe is truncate at the apex, the valva has a nearly rectangular basal process and an ovate medial process, and the aedeagus lacks a carina.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 28 − 35 ). Wingspan 11.0−13.5 mm. Head pale orange yellow. Antenna dusty yellow, 0.9× length of forewing; scape with scattered darker scales above, with a few black pecten bristles; flagellum unicolorous. Labial palpus yellowish brown, with scattered darker scales on inner surface, dark brown except third segment yellowish at apex on outer surface. Thorax and tegula dark grayish brown. Forewing index 0.27−0.3, yellowish brown, scales dark-tipped; retinaculum present; cilia yellowish brown mixed with dark brown, cilia line ill-defined. Hindwing grayish brown, with a single short, slender, evenly curved frenular bristle; cilia grayish brown. Fore and mid legs blackish brown; hind leg yellowish brown, tarsus mixed with darker scales above.

Pregenital abdomen. In male, first tergum with medial 1/3 sclerotized; coremata present in eighth segment; eighth sternite 0.2× as long as wide, posterior margin gently concave, without caudal process; eighth tergite rectangular, without caudal process.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 60 − 62 ). Vinculum gently concave on anterior margin, concave on posterior margin; medial process absent from ventrocaudal margin. Tegumen 0.3× depth of vinculum, deeply concave on both anterior and posterior margins, articulated with vinculum, forming an X-shaped rim at joint. Uncus with broad furcate base, forming a subovate membraneous section with tegumen; uncus lobe 2.0× depth of vinculum, not twisted, swordshaped, gently bent ventrad, with sparse setae, subdistal slightly convex ventrad, apex sharp and melanized; digitate process arising from base of uncus lobe laterally, linked with apodeme by narrow membrane; sclerite absent between uncus lobes. Valva triangular, broad at base, narrowed to blunt apex; costal margin straight, with a lobate, almost rounded basal process and a small rounded-triangular medial process; ventral margin with shallow ventral lobe; basal margin concave in semicircle ventrally, with small, triangular ‘secondary apodeme’ close to apodeme; inner surface unmodified. Juxta fused with vinculum angularly, stout, short, 0.3× length of aedeagus, slightly humped in dorsal midline. Aedeagus stout, 0.7× length valva, slightly curved dorsally, truncate at apex, double-walled: inner wall tubular, sinuate; outer wall dorsally forming a small spine-like apical carina and a large, triangular carina elevated from between middle and distal 1/3, ventrally with a pair of minute carinae at distal 2/5 and a pair of slender, horned carinae at distal 1/5 (broken sometimes). Bulbus ejaculatorius 3.5× length of aedeagus, slightly expanded from basal 1/6 to 1/3, where the ductus ejaculatorius is coiled, subdistal section expanded and curved, distal section slightly expanded.

Female unknown.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangxi, Hong Kong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin carinatus, meaning carinate, referring to the dorsal and ventral carinae of the aedeagus.
