Diagnosis. This new species is similar to E. conchata sp. nov. and E. sinica (Gaedike, 1984) , but differs from the latter two species in the tegumen being membraneous medially, sclerotized and pincer-shaped laterally, and the elongate rectangular valva with a basal flange. In the latter two species, the tegumen is simple, the short valva is scallop-shaped in E. conchata sp. nov. and ear-shaped in E. sinica , and the basal flange is absent.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36 − 43 ). Wingspan 10.5−15.0 mm. Head pale orange yellow. Antenna 0.8× length of forewing; scape yellowish white, with a few black pecten bristles; flagellum variegated, yellowish white on ventral surface, dark purplish brown on dorsal surface except first few segments yellowish white. Labial palpus dusty yellow on inner surface, yellowish brown mixed with darker scales on outer surface. Thorax and tegula yellowish brown to grayish brown. Forewing index 0.25−0.3, yellowish brown, individual scales dark-tipped; retinaculum present; cilia yellowish brown, with dark-tipped scales. Hindwing yellowish brown tinged with gray; male with a single short, slender, evenly curved frenular bristle, female with two slender bristles, shorter one 0.5× length of longer one; cilia grayish brown. Fore and mid legs purplish brown; hind leg yellowish brown, tarsus with scattered darker scales on outer surface. Male with flattened, yellow scales on apex of abdomen, covering over elongate valva.

Pregenital abdomen. First tergum without sclerotization. In male, coremata present in eighth segment; eighth sternite 0.16× as long as wide, without caudal process; eighth tergite 0.25× as long as wide, without caudal process. In female, seventh sternite triangularly concave at middle on posterior margin.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 68 − 70 ). Vinculum convex on anterior margin, slightly convex laterally on posterior margin; medial process on ventrocaudal margin elongate, T-shaped, 0.8× depth of vinculum. Tegumen 0.3× depth of vinculum, triangular and membraneous medially, sclerotized and pincer-shaped laterally. Uncus with lobate base separated by membrane; uncus lobe small, 0.25× depth of vinculum, not twisted, bent ventrad; basal 2/3 slightly expanded, membraneous ventrally, sclerotized dorsally, distal 1/3 digitate, setose; sclerite present between uncus lobes, quadrilateral, with two slender cornua anteriorly. Valva elongate rectangular, broad and rounded at apex; costal margin straight in basal 3/4, arched in distal 1/4; basal flange strong digitate, setose, with a slender, smooth, hooked, tip-melanized process at apex directed dorsad; bridging lobe absent between basal flange and valva; ventral margin slightly convex at basal 1/5, then straight and parallel with dorsal margin, arched at distal 1/4, without ventral lobe; basal margin with small, smooth, triangular ‘secondary apodeme’ close to ventral margin; inner surface unmodified. Juxta reflexed anteriorly along inner surface of vinculum, 0.5× length of aedeagus, heavily sclerotized, grooved in dorsal midline, folded laterally, curved through 90° with base of aedeagus, twothirds from its fusion with base of aedeagus broad, one-third from its fusion with base of medial process of vinculum narrow. Aedeagus tubular, slender, as long as valva, strongly curved. Bulbus ejaculatorius 1.5× length of aedeagus, subdistal section expanded and curved, distal section slightly expanded, broader than subdistal section.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 89 View FIGURES 89 − 91 ). Ovipositor length 3.0−3.4 mm. Eighth tergite subovate, microtrichiate on posterior 1/3, setose on posterior margin. Eighth sternite gently concave and setose on posterior margin, microtrichiate on posterior 1/5, triangularly concave on anterior margin, longitudinally protruded ventrad along middle line, forming one tubular sclerite where ductus bursae running through. Ostium at middle on posterior margin of eighth sternite. Antrum absent; ductus bursae very narrow, 2.0× length of corpus bursae. Colliculum comprising a pair of fin-like, spinose processes arising from a cowl-shaped apodeme on posterior margin of corpus bursae, invaginated into corpus bursae to level of second ring; second ring at posterior 1/5 of corpus bursae, dorsally a narrow and constricted band, ventrally a broad subrounded plate, with a sublunate process posteriorly, a small, separate sclerite placed anterior to second ring; inception of ductus seminalis dorsal, arising from second ring. Corpus bursae elongate ovate, posterior 1/5 constricted by second ring; signum absent.

Distribution. China (Chongqing, Fujian, Gansu, Hainan, Hubei, Hunan, Yunnan, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin elongatus, meaning elongate, referring to the elongate valva, the elongate aedeagus, and the elongate T-shaped medial process on the vinculum ventrocaudal margin.
