Diagnosis. This new species resembles E. eminens sp. nov. in the male genitalia, but is different as noted in the diagnosis of the latter species. Edosa baculiformis sp. nov. is also similar to E. darjeelingella ( Zagulajev, 1964) , but can be distinguished by the straight uncus lobe with rounded apex, and the valva with a ventral process shallowly concave at middle on the lower margin. In E. darjeelingella , the lanceolate uncus lobe is blunt at apex, and the ventral process of the valva is deeply concave at middle on the lower margin.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 28 − 35 ). Wingspan 12.0−17.0 mm. Head pale orange yellow to orange yellow. Antenna dusty yellow, 0.8× length of forewing; scape without pecten; flagellum unicolorous. Labial palpus with first and second segments yellowish brown mixed with dark brown on inner surface, blackish brown on outer surface, third segment blackish brown. Thorax and tegula ferruginous brown. Forewing index 0.28−0.3, ash brown; retinaculum present; cilia grayish brown. Hindwing pale grayish brown to coppery brown; male with a single short, slender, evenly curved frenular bristle, female with a pair of slender bristles of subequal length; cilia grayish brown. Fore and mid legs dark purplish brown, hind leg brown.

Pregenital abdomen. First tergum with posterior 2/3 sclerotized. In male, coremata present in eighth segment; eighth sternite 0.25× as long as wide, without caudal process; eighth tergite rectangular, 0.5× as long as wide, without caudal process. In female, seventh sternite semicircularly concave at middle on posterior margin.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 63 − 64 ). Vinculum convex on anterior margin, slightly concave at middle on posterior margin; medial process on ventrocaudal margin short, semicircular. Tegumen about 0.75× depth of vinculum, slightly concave on anterior margin, slightly convex on posterior margin. Uncus with broad fan-shaped base interrupted by traces of uncus lobes, not forming a membraneous section with tegumen; uncus lobe almost as long as depth of vinculum, straight, broad at base, narrowed to rounded apex, slightly protuberant dorsally at basal 1/3, distal 2/3 melanized and clubbed, setose dorsally; sclerite absent between uncus lobes. Valva elongate, rectangular, with rounded apex; costal margin slightly convex at base, then straight and parallel with ventral margin, without basal flange; ventral margin straight, without ventral lobe, with a quadrangular process at base, its lower margin shallowly concave at middle, forming two small appendages; basal margin with ‘secondary apodeme’ close to ventral margin, represented only by a shallow convexity; inner surface unmodified, slightly concave at apex and forming a small pseudo process in some specimens. Juxta reflexed anteriorly along inner surface of vinculum, very short, flat, narrowed at middle. Aedeagus stout, narrowed to apex, slightly bent ventrad, with shallow dorsal emargination. Bulbus ejaculatorius 3.0× length of aedeagus, with basal 1/6 slightly expanded, subdistal section not hypertrophied, distal section slightly expanded, broader than basal 1/6.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 86 View FIGURES 86 − 88 ). Ovipositor length 3.6−4.0 mm. Eighth tergite tapered anteriorly, microtrichiate and setose on posterior half. Eighth sternite trapezoidally concave at middle to anterior 1/5, microtrichiate on posterior 2/3, setose on posterior margin. Ostium at middle concavity of eighth sternite. Antrum weakly sclerotized; ductus bursae slightly shorter than corpus bursae. Colliculum comprising a funnel-shaped apodeme occupying posterior 1/ 6 of corpus bursae, from which anteriorly arises a pair of slender, digitate processes with spinose apices running to level of second ring, and posteriorly arises a pair of slender, spinose, band-shaped processes entering into middle of ductus bursae; second ring surrounding middle of corpus bursae, broad, denticulate anteriorly, dorsally with a subrounded plate protruding into corpus bursae; inception of ductus seminalis from middle of subrounded plate on posterior margin. Corpus bursae ovate, basal half thick-walled; signum absent.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Shaanxi).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin baculiformis , meaning clubbed, referring to the clubbed melanized section of the uncus lobe.
